Fortunately the Chinese companies Tiktok and WeChat have landed into the safe zone of ban withdrawal. However the delay of banning the apps in the US is for a short term. After the Trump administration felt the data privacy issues with these apps, they got a ban call.
With the announcement of the government recently, it was expected to have the apps banned starting from Sunday (20 September). The Commerce Department might have issued an order that would have prohibited new downloads as of Sunday.
But just before the expected day of apps removal, President Trump had given a deal between TikTok, Oracle, and Walmart as a “blessing,” on Saturday. This indeed allowed the company for escape a ban, at least for one more week.
Alongside, a judge in California issued a preliminary injunction blocking the administration’s WeChat ban. Hence, there might be a decision made on the ban of both apps, after the Commerce Department reviews the further report of collaboration.
