In the state of California Linwei Ding was charged with four counts and detained on Wednesday. The perpetrator is an alleged Chinese hacker who took more than 500 confidential files. The jail sentence may range from 0 to 10 years per offense and the fine can be up to $250,000 for each count.

A lawyer for Mr Ding could not be found whom we could get comment on that case, the local media said. The information that He is accused of taking is the technology related to Google’s supercomputing data centres which are solely used for the purpose of hosting and training big AI models.

The indictment shows that Mr Ding joined Google in 2019, where his duties were in the development of this software. In May 2022, Nimish allegedly began to download data kept in Google’s network into his personal Google accounts. The prosecution claims that Kiramira’s updates were made intermittently throughout the year, according to the indictment. The next six months, it is believed that he worked for Beijing Rongshu Lianzhi Technology – the start-up tech company that came to him. The accusation states that he was offered a monthly salary of $14,800 (£11.620) to serve as the company’s CTO.
