Apple is trying to roll out the latest iOS 13.5.5 after its beta version is rigorously testing a new audio feature for Apple News Plus service. This service is said to add podcast-style recordings of long form articles to the app.
The company was reportedly working on the feature earlier this year for Apple news plus new audio stories. However the newly revealed section of the News app was into implementation now.
The UI interface is much similar to Apple’s Podcasting app UI, and has a quick 15-second rewind button. Also there are options for faster playback. Adding to it is the quick link that pops up and allows listeners to switch the audio version of the story to the written. In parallel, users can listen and read at once.
The company is planning to develop its own audio versions rather than getting license to existing podcasting content.
