Microsoft has developed the AI-powered “eye contact” feature on the Surface Pro X and is rolling out. The functionality is similar to Apple’s FaceTime feature in iOS 14 which will be available later this year. The feature was originally announced last year for the ARM-powered Surface laptop, but is coming up now.

It can be witnessed as a part of Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 20175. The company announced that the feature majorly depends on the “artificial intelligence capabilities of the Microsoft SQ1 processor.” It adjusts according to your eyes position that looks in a video call or chat. The camera lens projects and makes sure of the eye contact with the camera.

Make sure the feature is enabled and users will notice the eye contact correction. And note that it will automatically apply to any app that uses the front camera. Many apps including Zoom, Google Meet, and Skype can be witnessing the special feature, however when the landscape mode is switched ON in the Surface Pro X.
