Meta Platforms has unveiled two new Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses models designed specifically for prescription wearers, expanding its push into AI-powered wearables.
The new models — Ray-Ban Meta Blayzer Optics (Gen 2) and Ray-Ban Meta Scriber Optics (Gen 2) — are built to support nearly all prescription types and are designed for all-day comfort. Starting at $499, they will be available from April 14 through optical retailers in the U.S. and select international markets.
The Blayzer model features a rectangular design available in multiple sizes, while the Scriber offers a more rounded frame style. Both are engineered for a personalised fit, with flexible hinges, interchangeable nose pads and adjustable temple tips that can be customised by an optician.
Meta also introduced new colours and lens options across its smart glasses lineup, including updates to Ray-Ban Meta and Oakley Meta frames, offering more style variety alongside functional lens choices like Transitions and performance-focused optics.
Beyond design, Meta is enhancing the glasses with new AI capabilities powered by Meta AI. One of the key additions is hands-free nutrition tracking — users can log meals using voice commands or by taking a quick photo, with the system automatically extracting nutritional details and building a personalised food log over time.
The update reflects Meta’s broader strategy to blend AI with everyday wearable devices, aiming to make its smart glasses more useful as both lifestyle and health-focused tools.
