The 2020 update from Microsoft that took place with testing in the last month, is now available to all the Windows 10 users. This new 2020 Windows 10 update majorly features the Windows Subsystem for Linux 2 and Cortana updates.
The May 2020 update that includes the Windows Subsystem for Linux 2 (WSL 2) has a custom-built Linux kernel. This greatly improves the performance of Microsoft’s Linux subsystem in Windows.
However Linux GUI application support or GPU hardware acceleration is not included in this update with WSL 2. Let’s see if Microsoft packs these features for future Windows updates as users expect it with the next update.
Cortana improvements are also available in this new update. Users can undock Cortana from the Windows 10 taskbar now. Also the new software allows choosing between typing and talking to the digital assistant. Users will have the flexibility to choose for multiple conversational methods and can also search home interfaces easily.
