Microsoft has partnered with San Francisco-based artificial intelligence research company OpenAI for expanding the technology to its products. A new exclusive license on Open AI’s groundbreaking GPT-3 language model was acquired by Microsoft.
The text generation model allows Microsoft with an auto-generating text program that’s emerged as the most sophisticated of its kind in the industry. It is already known that both the companies have partnered through OpenAI’s ongoing Azure cloud computing contract in the past.
Now, Microsoft has collaborated with OpenAI for its research program by acquiring the rights to GPT-3. The third iteration GPT-3 by OpenAI was released in July, and is an ever-growing language model.
This new program and its prior iterations have helped create some of the most fascinating AI language experiments till date. It has also inspired vigorous debate around the ethics of powerful AI programs that may be used for more nefarious purposes.
