Adobe is expanding the capabilities of its Firefly AI assistant and integrating it across key creative applications including Premiere Pro, Illustrator, InDesign and Frame.io as part of its broader push to streamline AI-powered content creation workflows.
The updated Firefly assistant introduces new capabilities for creating brand kits, product videos and storyboards. Adobe has also added a feature that allows users to save AI-generated content as reusable elements that can be applied across multiple projects.
Within Premiere Pro, the Firefly assistant can help editors organise assets into bins, batch-rename video clips, identify interview questions and automatically add markers to improve editing efficiency.
In Illustrator, the AI assistant can perform tasks such as reorganising layers throughout a document, identifying missing fonts and helping designers manage complex creative projects more effectively.
Firefly is already available across Adobe Express, Photoshop and Acrobat, and currently integrates with AI platforms including ChatGPT, Claude and Copilot. Adobe has also confirmed plans to add support for Google Gemini and Slack in the future.
Adobe continues to evolve Firefly into a more comprehensive AI-powered creative platform, introducing additional features that increasingly position it as a competitor to tools such as Canva in the generative AI space.
One of the latest additions is a feature called Elements, which enables users to save AI-generated characters, objects and locations for future reuse across different creative projects.
Firefly is also gaining a new Projects feature that allows teams to store assets in a central location while maintaining shared project context. The functionality is designed to support collaborative workflows such as video series production, marketing campaigns and brand content creation.
Both the Elements and Projects features are currently being made available through a private beta programme as Adobe continues testing and refining the tools before a wider release.
