Founded by former OpenAI employees, the company announced it will be expanding its teams across sales, engineering, research, and business operations—placing a strong emphasis on growth in its UK and Ireland offices.
This European push comes on the heels of Anthropic’s new research facility in Zurich and the appointment of Guillaume Princen as Head of EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa).
“Our growth across the UK and Europe comes at a pivotal time, as more businesses look to adopt advanced AI solutions with robust security and privacy at their core,” said Princen.
“European companies are turning to Claude for its intelligence, speed, and exceptional coding capabilities. And on the consumer side, it’s Claude’s conversational charm and thoughtful design that’s winning people over—especially among tastemakers,” he added.
Princen, a Paris native, previously led European operations at Stripe before stepping into the CEO role at French fintech Mooncard.
Daniela Amodei, Anthropic’s co-founder and president, emphasized the region’s importance: “EMEA has always been a key part of our vision. Since launching Claude in Europe last year, we’ve seen rapid and organic adoption across both businesses and individuals, reinforcing the strategic value of this region for our long-term growth.”
“We’ve long planned to deepen our investment here, and finding the right leadership in Guillaume was the critical piece that allowed us to move forward with the thoughtful expansion we envision.”
