China’s Baidu on Wednesday unveiled an AI-powered video generation tool for businesses, alongside a major revamp of its search engine platform. Reports Technology News
The new image-to-video model, named MuseSteamer, can create videos up to 10 seconds long and is available in three versions: Turbo, Pro, and Lite. This launch marks Baidu’s latest step into the fast-growing field of generative AI, where global tech giants and AI leaders like OpenAI are pushing boundaries beyond chatbots into image-to-video and text-to-video technologies.
Within China, major players including ByteDance, Tencent, and Alibaba have already introduced their own video generation models. However, unlike many competing offerings—such as OpenAI’s Sora, which is geared toward individual users through subscription plans—Baidu’s MuseSteamer is designed exclusively for enterprise use, with no consumer-facing app currently available.
Alongside the MuseSteamer debut, Baidu also rolled out a significant update to its search engine. Enhancements include a redesigned search bar that accommodates longer queries and now supports both voice and image-based inputs. The platform also delivers more personalized results by leveraging Baidu’s proprietary AI technology.
