Gamma is expanding its platform with a new image-generation product as it looks to compete more directly with design giants like Canva and Adobe.

The new tool, called Gamma Imagine, enables users to create brand-specific visual assets using simple text prompts. These include interactive charts, visualisations, marketing materials, social media graphics and infographics. Gamma already offers more than 100 templates, which can be combined with its AI features to quickly build presentations and websites.

To strengthen its data-driven capabilities, Gamma is integrating with a range of popular tools, including ChatGPT, Claude, Zapier, Atlassian, n8n and Superhuman, allowing users to pull in data and automate workflows more easily.

Speaking about the launch, chief executive and co-founder Grant Lee said the product was shaped by early user feedback. “We realised that alongside presentations, users needed a wide range of graphical design capabilities,” he explained, adding that the new tools enable users to go beyond traditional presentation formats.

Lee positioned Gamma as sitting between high-end professional tools such as Adobe and Figma, and more traditional software like Microsoft PowerPoint, offering a balance of ease-of-use and advanced functionality.

“We think we can serve the very long tail of knowledge workers and business professionals whose demand for their job is to communicate visually, but they just don’t have the tools. They need to pull in a design resource to be able to help with this stuff, and we want to make an-AI native approach that serves their needs in the sort of middle that we feel is really underserved,” he said.
