Android is reiterating a new update to the current AirDrop-style sharing feature. This update is called Nearby Share or Nearby Sharing. Apart from macOS and iOS that incorporate this feature already, it might be associated with Chrome on numerous other platforms with the new update.

Android users can directly share links, photos, and other files with this feature. Other devices including mobiles will have the access. XDA Developers say that this AirDrop has been in development for more than a year now.

Google Play might be the downloading platform for this feature. The code suggests that it will work also on Chromebooks and other computers along with mobile devices, however with Chrome browser installed. Also, the new feature will roll out soon as the expectations are rumored for a long time.
