The roll out of audio tweets for iOS in June has made Twitter get on with the idea successfully. Now the company is now experimenting with the idea of letting people record and send voice messages through Direct Messages on Twitter.
Product manager for direct messages at Twitter, Alex Ackerman-Greenberg has hinted that the company will be testing voice DMs soon. Brazil is picked as the first country to witness the test. Alex has shared the news through a 20-second voice message.
The message quotes – We know people want more options for how they express themselves in conversations on Twitter — both publicly and privately, Alex said. Similar to voice tweets, voice messages have bare-bones, simple interface: there’s just a play / pause button, and the sender’s avatar pulsates as the message plays.
The two other tech giants Facebook and Instagram already allow audio recordings in DMs.
