Wikipedia is redesigning its platform for the desktop versions. This is happening for the first time in ten years while the entire redesign process is expected to be complete by end of next year. The search and discover platform has been serving at its best since around 20 years.

Known to be millions of user’s website, with text-heavy and crowd-sourced encyclopedia entries; Wikipedia might be coming up with some extraordinary features for its newer version. This is a widely used platform across computers, tablets, and phones.

The new development from the biggest searching source is expected to be more approachable for new users. The most reputed Wiki pages of the public figures would make it a lot easier to skip past certain sections of a page without having to scroll down on my computer, as the update rolls out.

We might find a collapsible sidebar that allows users to collapse the menu on the left side of each page. This is to minimize distractions, and limit irrelevant content and links on the left of your screen to make it easier to focus.
