The two-factor authentication, shortly known as 2FA is one of the easiest and best ways to keep your online accounts secure. The process is carried out by issuing an authentication code on your phone when an external person or source tries to access the account.
This highly secured app allows the user only by entering the code, while no anonymous access is accepted. Also, note that 2FA uses a key specific to your phone. So, if you lose or break your phone, it cannot be simply reinstalled the app on your new phone. A procedure of transferring the key code for new phone is to be done.
Of course, different authentication apps handle this in different ways. However, Google Authenticator establishes 2FA by using your phone to scan a QR code generated by the app. This can be processed on a separate device or by entering a key code.
This new process is easy to transfer and move the app to your new phone. As 2FA uses specific security keys to each piece of hardware, reinstallation of Google Authenticator is not the way to go on. So make sure the new app consists of the transferred keys.
