The new technology of color-changing options for a phone’s rear glass is something exciting to see. Vivo is using an electrochromic glass to achieve the effect. In a recent video post to Weibo, the company without naming it or revealing its release date, confirmed its new phone.
Vivo said the new feature will be made possible with the press of a button. The option succeeds with the electrochromic glass to achieve this dazzling effect, said the company. This is the same technology which is used by OnePlus to obscure its phone rear camera.
At the CES 2020, OnePlus showcased an electric signal that causes the glass to switch between being tinted or transparent. Supplementing OnePlus’s concept, Vivo uses the technology to change the color of the phone’s glass rear.
The previous similar design of triple color change by Huawei for its P20 Pro gave a hint of possibility. When it kept moving, the colors kept changing. Similarly, whenever a button on its side, the same colors white, deep blue, and lilac purple tone keep appearing.
