The social networking tech giant Facebook has made its Connect virtual and augmented reality conference on a single day this year. In the event, Quest was announced to walk-in while Rift would walk-out.

The two-hour keynote included announcements on release of a new VR headset (Oculus Quest), the quitting of an old headset (Oculus Rift), and a long list of upcoming games and apps. The Connect mainly focused on Facebook’s VR division Oculus.

Bsides, there was an announcement on Facebook’s plans for Ray-Ban smart glasses, and a more advanced AR initiative called Aria.

Facebook has introduced the Oculus Quest 2 that will be available from 13th October and said its entire VR hardware lineup is designed into one headset. While on the other hand, Oculus Rift S will not be on-sale later. However PC-exclusive VR games will be available.

Another bigger announcement from the company is its Smart Glasses that will feature Augmented Reality (AR). With the partnership of Ray-ban, Facebook is taking a step forward into AR. Also, the company’s new project Aria will be associated with testing of advanced AR by its employees.
