ElevenLabs has quietly launched a new iOS app called ElevenMusic, expanding beyond voice AI into music creation as it looks to compete with platforms like Suno and Udio.

The app, officially released on April 1 after appearing on the Apple App Store for several weeks, allows users to generate music using natural language prompts. It signals ElevenLabs’ broader ambition to move into creative AI tools as competition in voice models intensifies.

ElevenMusic is currently free to use, enabling users to create up to seven songs per day. Users can customise aspects such as song length, lyrics and writing style. The platform also allows users to explore tracks created by others and remix them using prompts — with remixes counting toward the daily limit.

The app includes features similar to mainstream streaming services like Spotify and Apple Music, including live stations, curated albums, mood-based playlists (such as Focus, Energy and Chill), as well as charts for trending and new releases.

A paid Pro tier is also available, priced at $9.99 per month or $95.90 annually. It allows users to generate up to 500 tracks per month, offers more than 500GB of storage, and unlocks a wider range of styles and creative options.

The launch reflects ElevenLabs’ strategy to diversify its offerings as AI audio tools become more commoditised. The company, which raised $500m in a Series C round at an $11bn valuation in February, has been rapidly expanding its creative AI portfolio.

In addition to music generation, ElevenLabs has introduced tools for ad creation, voiceovers, translation, image generation, video production, voice cloning and sound design — positioning itself as a broader platform for AI-driven content creation.
