Meta Platforms has announced price increases across its virtual reality headset lineup, citing rising costs of memory chips and other key components.

From April 19, the Meta Quest 3S (128GB) and 256GB versions will increase by $50, bringing prices to $349.99 and $449.99 respectively. Meanwhile, the Meta Quest 3 will see a $100 price hike, rising to $599.99.

Meta said the decision reflects a broader surge in the cost of critical hardware components, particularly memory chips, which is affecting consumer electronics across the industry. The company added that the adjustment is necessary to maintain the quality of its hardware, software and overall user experience.

The updated pricing will also apply to refurbished Quest devices, while accessories will remain unchanged.

Meta joins other major tech players such as Samsung, Microsoft and Sony, which have also raised hardware prices amid ongoing supply constraints in the global memory chip market.
