X, formerly Twitter, is giving blue ticks to its most “influential” users in a significant change of policy.

Those with more than 2,500 verified followers (people who already paid for X Premium) received free rewards. In addition to the blue checkmarks, users on X will also see fewer ads. The social network also announced that it will remove bots that cause people’s follower count to decrease.

Once a unique user tracking feature, Blue Ticks became a paid option after Elon Musk purchased the site. To make the core community feel privileged, X now offers this option for free. In addition to blue checks, premium users also benefit from having their tweets promoted when they reply to others and can even claim a share of the revenue from ad campaigns.

X has a special reward for those with more than 5,000 verified followers. They get free access to Premium+, a feature that not only removes all ads but also increases the power of their tweets when they reply to others. This exciting development was announced by Mr. Musk in late March.

Before Musk bought X, blue ticks were a free token given by the platform. It was originally used as an identity verification tool designed to help stop fake accounts and the spread of misinformation. Blue checks were once seen as a sign of someone’s rights on the internet because only a few people, such as celebrities, government officials, and journalists, could be tracked.
