Google has officially rolled out a new AI-driven virtual try-on tool, giving users the ability to see how clothes might look on them before making a purchase. The announcement, made Thursday, also included updates to Google’s price alert system and a preview of an upcoming generative AI feature for exploring shoppable outfits and room decor ideas. The virtual try-on feature, now live in the United States, allows users to upload a full-length photo of themselves and digitally try on clothing from Google’s vast Shopping Graph. It’s accessible across Google Search, Google Shopping, and product listings in Google Images.

To use the feature, shoppers simply tap on a product listing or apparel item, select the “try it on” icon, and upload their image. Once uploaded, they’ll see a realistic rendering of themselves in the chosen outfit. Users can also save their favorite looks and share them with friends for feedback.

While Google previously offered virtual try-on options using a variety of model body types, this latest update is more personalized, enabling people to see the clothing on a virtual version of their own body.

This release comes just two months after Google began testing the tool. It also follows the launch of Doppl, an experimental AI app introduced last month that helps users visualize different outfit styles on themselves.

With this move, Google continues to invest heavily in immersive shopping experiences, bringing more personalization and AI innovation into the hands of online consumers.
