Tinder as a major chatting platform, will introduce its own in-app video chat feature. Tinder expects to launch the one-on-one video chat option later this year. Its parent company Match Group has announced this to be coming in 2020 probably. Tinder has millions of users to its platform and video calls can be an added advantage to its reputation.

The company considers the views on harassment and abuse that might be possible on a vocal chat. The text messaging can be a way to use abusive communication, but direct visual chat increases that even more. So the company might be building its own offensive image detection system. The chances are likely for third party software to prevent such abuses.

On a note, users might enjoy this new upcoming feature. However they need to get habituated to the way the feature and app works with video. On the other hand the company saw a decline in first-time paying users due to the crisis of coronavirus, especially from February to March this year.
