On Sunday, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg stated that he is not holding his breath over the proposed cage fight with Elon Musk, who owns SpaceX, Tesla, and Twitter (now called X). Musk proposed a physical fight between the two high-profile tech billionaires in June, tweeting, “I’m up for a cage fight if he is lol.” Zuckerberg, an enthusiastic MMA fighter who takes his training seriously, responded, “Send me location,” with Musk recommending the Vegas Octagon in Las Vegas, Nevada.

According to Technology News UK, the fight’s preparations have intensified, and it might actually happen. Musk announced on Twitter that the fight will be live-streamed on X, with all proceeds benefiting a veterans’ charity. “Shouldn’t we use a platform that is more trustworthy and capable of generating charitable donations?” on his own Threads platform, Zuckerberg responded and posted a screenshot of Musk’s tweet. It indicates that other Meta platforms, such as Facebook or Instagram, might be best suited to streaming the clash than X, which had technical issues when it attempted to launch Ron DeSantis’ presidential campaign in a live Spaces event in May.

Musk also tweeted that he’s “lifting weights all day, preparing for the fight,” and even posted a video of himself “curling a 45” pound dumbbell. Zuckerberg said he recommended August 26 for the battle and is waiting for Musk to confirm.
